about

When I was a kid, I told my guitar teacher I didn't want to finish this song cause it was too pop. He said, "you've got to finish this song. This is the kind of song that pays the bills." I didn't take him seriously, but I did finish it. Sometimes songwriting is like giving birth. That baby is coming out one way or another. If you'd like to prove my guitar teacher right though, by all means, it won't hurt my feelings, I promise

Admittedly, it does not sound at all like it did back then. It was a borderline country song until 2 years ago when I heard Still Woozy for the first time. I ran into Marco's, ranting about putting a hip-hop beat on it. Marco looked at me like I was crazy. If you, like Marco 2 years ago, don't like this version and wish it sounded more country, you can buy the song to insult us. Oh god, buying this song is the worst thing you could ever do to us. I can't even conceive of how horrible it would be if everyone bought this song. Oh god, you can pay as much as you want for this song. Just makes me sick thinking about how much money someone could spend on this song just to hurt us. I would be so so hurt, so very hurt. I think I need to vomit and take a shower after just writing this. Please for the love of god, do not spend lots and lots of money on this song, allowing us to make more and better music for you

lyrics

I had a dream that Mary Davis hid my heart inside a
Soda can
And then she went and drank it
She kept it well and truthfully I didn't ever want to see it again

Life would be
So much happier with
Just a few more
People to love
And this would be
So much simpler with
Just a few more
People to love

I woke up on one Thursday morning, went outside to find a
Gift at the door
It beat like a drum when
I picked it up and shook it round to try and find what it had hidden in store

I couldn't bear to break the seal, I knew what I would find I
Couldn't return
Love is a stubborn beast
I couldn't break another's heart if I don't know exactly whose I've earned

Life would be
So much happier with
Just a few more
People to love
And this would be
So much simpler with
Just a few more
People to love

From the moment that she left me
I lived my life
Like a zombie and
I would be
So much better with
Just a few more
People to love

I found myself, feeling broken without her
Wondering if I'll ever find another love
Like hers

I had a dream that Mary Davis hid my heart inside a
Soda can
And then she went and drank it
When I woke up I couldn't breathe for all the need I had to see her again
